According to Variety, actress Ariana Grande (Wicked: For Good, Positions) will be joining the cast of FX’s show American Horror Story for season 13. American Horror Story is produced by 20th Television. This season will also feature some of the actors who were regulars on previous seasons.
According to Variety, Jessica Lange (Tootsie, King King), Sarah Paulson (All’s Fair, The Bear), Evan Peters (Tron: Ares, Wish), Angela Bassett (Wildwood, 9-1-1), Kathy Bates (Matlock, A Family Affair), Emma Roberts (Space Cadet, Madame Web), Billie Lourd (Monster, Adulthood), Gabourey Sidibe (1266, StuGo) and Leslie Grossman (Nobody Wants This, Monster) will return. The creators of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy (Monster, The Shards) and Brad Falchuk (The Brothers Sun, Love Story), worked with Grande on Scream Queens.
Variety noted that Ryan Murphy Productions first posted on their Instagram page, announcing that Grande will be joining the cast. The post showed Grande with two other cast members, Lange and Peters. Lange’s last appearance in American Horror Story was in season eight, 2018’s Apocalypse. She appeared alongside Bates, Bassett, and Sidibe. Peters and Paulson’s last appearance was in season 10 in 2021.

Variety noted that fans are speculating that, with the reuniting of these cast members, season 13 will be based on the third season’s storyline, entitled Coven. Season three saw Lange and Paulson lead a coven of young witches against a growing force of warlocks. To preserve their existence, they eventually reached out to an adversary in Bassett’s character. Some of these same characters also returned in season eight, called Apocalypse, where the witches battled the end of the world.
According to Variety, the latest installment of American Horror Story, Delicate, featured Roberts, Lourd, Grossman, Kim Kardashian (All’s Fair, Calabasas), Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife, Gilmore Girls), Annabelle Dexter-Jones (Holy Motors, Under The Silver Lake), Michael Jae Rodriguez (Transformers, Tick, Tock, Boom!), Denis O’hare (In The Room, Evil), Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squade, Pan Mermaids), Julie White (Big Mouth, And Just Like That), and finally Maaz Ali (Flight Risk, Anxious). Reminiscent of Rosemary’s Baby, it followed a rising actress who suspects something sinister at her new fertility clinic.
