‘Archer’ Is Finally Moving to FXX

Negotiating around a certain series and a prospective channel can be difficult, but things have already been in the changing process for Archer for quite some time now.

Variety reports that FX Networks (where Archer currently lies) announced back in 2015 the idea to move the animated series to FXX for season seven. Somehow the move never quite went through, and Archer finished out its seventh season on FX. The season was undoubtedly well-received, as Archer was renewed for three seasons, which now will be premiering on FXX.

Archer is a half-hour series featuring the raunchy and hilarious group of spies in the “International Secret Intelligence Service.” Sterling Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) continues to make and dispel trouble as the megalomanic master spy. Other voice actors include famous comedians such as Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, and Judy Greer.

Chuck Saftler, president of program strategy and COO of FX Networks, spoke positively about Archer‘s move to FXX: “Archer is an awesome addition to the growing slate of original comedies on FXX, where it will join It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Man Seeking Woman and You’re the Worst. Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and Floyd County continue to make one of the funniest shows on television and it’s great to see them earn the awards and acclaim that comes with one of the most loyal and avid fan bases in the industry.”

No word yet on when Archer will premiere its eighth season on FXX, but Indiewire did speculate that it will be soon.
