Netflix is gearing up for the annual Annecy International Animation Film Festival and fan-favorite Arcane season two is leading the charge. Arcane is a sci-fi dystopian anime based on the popular game League of Legends and follows the perspective of Vi voiced by Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye),as she teams up with Caitlyn, voiced by Katie Leung (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), to stop her sister Jinx, voiced by Ella Purnell (Fallout).
According to Comicbook, Netflix gives a rundown of the 2024 Film Festival that will coming this June in France. Arcane isn’t the only star attraction as the festival will also feature panels on various other Netflix titles, including Spellbound, That Christmas, and Ultraman: Rising. Netflix’s Annecy presentation boasts a diverse range of animated projects. There will be a special “making of” panel, that will illuminate new information surrounding the new season, and fans are eagerly waiting.
The event will feature a sneak peek at upcoming content like Wallace & Gromit as well as a discussion with Zach Snyder (Justice League) and the production team behind his upcoming adult anime, Twilight of the Gods.
According to Comicbook, Netflix will be busy this month and the next as the company prepares for the start of the Anime Expo being held in Los Angeles this coming summer. There been increase of people watching anime, and a poll was shown that about 42% of Gen Z says they watch anime on a daily basis, which is almost double as millennials who watch it.
With Arcane at the helm of the con, Netflix’s presence will likely be a highlight of the convention and the lineup showcases its commitment to delivering high-quality animation for audiences of all tastes. While fans are waiting on the release of the second season of Arcane, the entire previous season is available to stream on Netflix.
