Arcane, the critically acclaimed animated series set in the League of Legends universe, is gearing up for its highly anticipated second season.According to Screenrant, the second season will follow where the first one ended with Vi, voiced by Hailey Steinfeld (Hawkeye), and Caitlyn, voiced by Katie Leung (Annika), witnessing the destruction done to Piltover by Jinx, voiced by Ella Purnell (Fallout).
According to an mxdwn post, this will be Arcane’s final season, split into three acts and released on separate days. Various footage revealed in Geek Week had shown that the season will be dealing with various timelines, in which one sees a dark version of Vi, who seemed to have lost everyone she cared for and now fights in the ring for money.
According to Screenrant, the series co-creator Christian Linke (Arcane: Bridging the Rift) explains how the hour-long battle was animated in the interview below.
Linke said, “It’s a big thing. You’ll see all of it. I would say, with this season, and kind of the climax of it, when we mapped it out first, it just looked impossible. It just looked impossible. Fortiche was like, “We can’t do this. This episode is going to be over an hour long.” And we’re like, “F–k.” We just had to figure out how to somehow clobber this into a shape that is producible, and I’m very, very, very happy with how it turned out.”
He concluded, “I think there was just a feeling of responsibility. It’s like, “Yeah, you can also kind of get away with something small,” but we just knew that that’s not what would feel right for this kind of storyline, so you just have to go big sometimes.”
This season will surely be jam-packed with intense action sequences that the series is known for, combined with its unique art style that draws in the viewer’s attention, keeping them on the edge of their seats. While fans await further information on the second season, the entire first season of Arcane is available to stream on Netflix.
