

According to Deadline, Emmy winner Holland Taylor (The Morning Show, The Practice) has been cast as a series regular in Apple TV+’s upcoming untitled comedy series starring Matthew McConaughey (True Detective, Magic Mike) and Woody Harrelson (True Detective, White Men Can’t Jump). The ten-episode, half-hour comedy will reunite Harrelson and McConaughey, who will play heightened versions of themselves in a comedic, heartfelt story about their unique sibling-like bond.
Deadline also mentions that the show will be set on McConaughey’s Texas ranch. The series explores the dynamic between the two as their close friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together. Taylor will portray Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac, in the series, adding another layer of complexity to the characters’ relationships.
David West Read (Schitt’s Creek, The Big Door Prize) , will serve as showrunner and executive producer. The project is produced by Skydance Television. Taylor’s casting follows her recent career successes, including a ninth Emmy nomination for The Morning Show. She won an Emmy in 1999 for The Practice and continues to impress with projects such as the Off-Broadway play N/A, the film Quiz Lady and her role on Showtime’s Billions.
