Apple TV+’s original streaming series Sinking Spring has revealed the newest addition to its cast in actress Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy) for its upcoming first season, via Deadline. Ireland’s casting for the series adds to its growing list of star television talent in Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Bullet Train) and Michael Mando (Better Call Saul) for the original streaming series from executive producer Ridley Scott (Blade Runner) and writer Peter Craig (Top Gun: Maverick).
The original series centers around lifelong friends of Henry’s character Ray and Mando’s Manny who have been in countless run-ins with the law in their Philadelphia neighborhood. The series follows Manny and Ray along during their current robbery stint that has two main characters impersonate as DEA Agents to rob a local manor that surprisingly houses one of the largest narcotics deposits on the East Coast. Ireland is set to join the cast as Kristy Lynne who is highly involved in the drug trade world of the surrounding Philadelphia and Pennsylvania region and is currently on a revenge tour against the individuals who previously ruined her life.
Sinking Spring is based on the original novel Dope Thief, Sinking Spring from Dennis Tafoya and will come to Apple TV+ in an eight episode first season from Craig and Scott. Currently, there is no announced release date nor estimated time to start production on the newest Apple original program.
