What drew people into watching the first season of Apple TV+’s original series Silo is how they perfectly blended the different themes of mystery and sci-fi. So fans are intrigued to see what the second season will bring. Producer Graham Yost (Justified, Boomtown) has shared that the new episodes will be “really, really, scary,” Comicbook.com reports. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, the producer explains what the events that unfolded at the end of the first season mean for what will come in the second season.
“There’s the beginnings of a call for rebellion, because Juliette went over the hill, so maybe it’s safe outside,” Yost explained via Comicbook.com. “And yet what we saw over in the other silo is what can happen if the rebellion goes wrong and all the people died, so that’s the basic tension of the season.”
“One is with Juliette in this other Silo, and one is back in her home Silo…” he added via Comicbook.com. “Juliette knows [what] could happen to her Silo, and is there any way she could get back to them to help them to stop that from happening? Stuff’s starting to get really, really scary.”
Silo focuses on a sci-fi mystery story about the last ten thousand people on Earth who live in a home underground that protects them from the deadly world outside. No one knows what the Silo is or how it was built. Juliette, played by Rebecca Ferguson (Dune: Part Two, Doctor Sleep), is an engineer who wants to avenge the murder of her loved one and unwillingly ends up being tangled in a mystery about this strange Silo, which leads her to discover terrible secrets.
According to Comicbook.com, Yost teased what could happen in the next episodes in the statement below.
“Juliette has a very difficult time getting into this other silo, and she’s looking for safety ’cause her suit is running out of air,” Yost said via Comicbook.com. “The wondrous tape that Walker arranged for her to have her suit wrapped in, that’s going to fail. A lot of the episode is about Juliette just trying to survive and the engineering stuff she has to do to try to stay alive. Juliette tries to stay alive in an empty silo and starts to figure out the mystery behind it … At some point she gets a sense she might not be alone. Then at the very end of the episode there’s a twist.”
Silo does not have a release date yet, but it’s set to have a panel at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, so fans are waiting eagerly for more news.
