Apple TV+’s series ‘The Afterparty’ Season 2 Trailer Welcomes New Cast Members

Apple TV+’s hilarious mystery series The Afterparty is on its way for a second season this coming July on the 12th. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show welcomes back the return of Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Zoë Chao (Long Weekend), and Sam Richardson (Detroiters) to the hilarious series. New faces have been noted in the series’ new trailer showing an exciting lineup including John Cho (Harold & Kuman Go To White Castle), Vivian Wu (The Pillow Book), Zach Woods (Silicon Valley), Ken Jeong (The Hangover), and Anna Konkle (PEN15). Fans can expect only good things from the trailer, setting up the new mystery in need of solving.

Through the new trailer, viewers are set up with a wedding in which the groom has been mysteriously murdered. It is up to Haddish’s character, Detective Danner, and her crew to narrow down the suspects. “We got a dead body and a whole lot of people to talk to. We’d like to hear your accounts of what happened,” remarks Detective Danner in the trailer.

While Detective Danner investigates and questions for possible suspects regarding the murder, Paul Walter Hauser’s character lays out his relation to the bride and groom and remarking, “This whole thing is so much more complex than you guys realize.”

Both the creator of the show, Chris Miller (21 Jump Street) and Anthony King (Robbie) will serve the role as co-showrunners for the second season and also be executive producers. Joining them as executive producers will include Phil Lord (21 Jump Street). To add on, Bridger Winegar (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Michael Cedar (Rushmore will serve as producers on the show.

Fans have much to look forward to in this new season of The Afterparty. Angie Hall, a critic for The Hollywood Reporter, had high praise for the first season, saying, “The Afterparty is a class valedictorian at an all-night rager. It’s smart, with thoughtful ideas to offer those who feel like engaging with them — but it’s concerned first and foremost with having a good time.”
