Apple TV announced a new star for its upcoming action-thriller series Disavowed. The series, created by Art Marcum (Shadow of Fear, Kraven the Hunter) and Matt Holloway (Transformers: The Last Knight, Kraven the Hunter), will star Sebastian Koch (Your Honor, The Defeated) as a series regular, Deadline reports.
Disavowed follows veteran CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin, played by James Marsden (Sonic the Hedgehog, Paradise), who is unexpectedly fired while part of a worldwide search for a mysterious assassin who killed his colleague. Disgraced and cut off from the intelligence community, Brad does not hold back as he pursues the $15 million federal reward offered for the assassin’s capture.
Koch will be onscreen alongside Marsden, Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina), Sylvia Hoeks (The Girl in the Spider’s Web, All the Devil’s Men), Bokeem Woodbine (Spider-Man: Homecoming, In the Shadow of the Moon), Noma Dumezweni (Made for Love, Black Earth Rising), Daniel Zovatto (Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Woman of the Hour), Mia Tharia (Klara and the Sun, The Education of Jane Cumming) and Sonita Henry (The Chealsea Detective, The Current Occupant). Apple TV has not yet shared character details.
Disavowed is executive produced by Marcum & Holloway, Marsden, Tom Spezialy (Ash vs Evil Dead, Weird Science), Michelle MacLaren (A Song from the Heart, For the Love of My Child: The Anissa Ayala Story) and Rebecca Hobbs (State of Play, Shining Girls). MacLaren (The Morning Show, Breaking Bad) will direct the first two episodes of Disavowed. She will serve as executive producer, with Hobbs under her overall deal with Apple TV.
The series is produced by Apple Studios and Blue Marble Pictures (Pachinko, Mistborn & The Stormlight Archive), with Theresa Kang (Bedford Park, Pachinko) and Caroline Garity (Bedford Park, Pachinko) serving as executive producers.
Koch is represented by the UK acting agency The Artist Partnership and the German acting agency Agentur Schlag.
