Apple TV Unveils Footage On New Mystery Drama Series ‘Sugar’

Apple Tv has recently release footage on their upcoming drama series Sugar. The show blends genres, offering a unique take on the classic detective story with a dash of science fiction. According to Hollywood Reporter, the premise of the series will follow private investigator, John Sugar portrayed by Colin Farrel (Fantastic Beasts), who is hired to find the missing granddaughter of a legendary Hollywood producer. The series is scheduled to make it debut on April 5th.

The series will be executive produced by Farrel along with Mark Protosevich (The Cell), Fernando Meirelles (Blindness), Audrey Chon (Lift), Simon Kinberg (Dark Phoenix), Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad), Scott Greenberg (Bob’s Burger), and Chip Vucelich (American Horror Story).

According to Hollywood Reporter, the additional members that will round out the series will include, Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Cruella), Amy Ryan(Central Intelligence), James Cromwell, Anna Gunn(Breaking Bad), Dennis Boutsikaris(Better Call Saul), Nate Corddry (Yogi Bear), Sydney Chandler (Pistol) and Alex Hernandez(Bloodshot).

The trailer gives us a glimpse into the world and mystery behind the series. It opens up with Collin’s character driving around California, and being lead down a rabbit hole that is getting bigger. As Sugar delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a complex tapestry of family secrets, both recent and long buried.According to Hollywood ReporterSugar marks the second series that Colin Farrell will star in, as he will reprise his role as the Penguin in his upcoming Batman spin-off series.

With a captivating premise, marvelous cast, and genre- bending approach, Sugar poising up to be a must watch series. The mystery of the series is sure to grab the viewers attention and wanting more. The first episode will be released on the premiere date, and then there will be a new episode every Friday until the finale on May 17.
