In a new teaser released by Apple TV+, clips from multiple new upcoming shows and renewed seasons are featured, including highly-awaited footage from Severance season two. While the release date for Severance season two is yet to be announced, the clips provided in the teaser allude to its premiere in the near future.
The trailer opens with Mark Scout, played by Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Step Brothers), putting on his blue lanyard, stepping into an elevator and returning to the ominous Lumon Industries Office. As the doors close, footage cuts to severed floor supervisor Seth Milchick, played by Tramell Tillman (Mission: Impossible 8, Dietland), welcoming Mark Scout back with a handful of blue balloons with Mark’s face plastered over each.
Later in the trailer, Mark is lying on a conference room table, as his figure flashes between his monotone work self and a more colorful, casual self. As a close-up of an eye dilates, Mark then finds himself looking around endless white hallways before running straight ahead. At the one-minute and twenty-eight-second mark, the last teaser footage for season two shows Mark looking out beyond the elevator, yelling, “Wait,” as the doors close him in.
In a previous mxdwn article, it was reported that Severance season two resumed production after the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild of America strikes ended, causing delays for the new season’s release. The article also provides context for the show’s premise, stating: “The show is about a team of employees at Lumon Industries who have undergone an operation that altered how their brains hold memories. Their memories are divided between their work and personal lives.”
According to TVLine, joining Lumon Industries for season two are actors John Noble (Star Trek: Prodigy, Fringe), Gwendoline Christie (Wednesday, Game of Thrones), Merritt Wever (Signs, Marriage Story), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, Duck Butler), Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast, Friends), Bob Balaban (A Mighty Wind, Asteroid City), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Meg) and Stefano Carranante (Blue Bloods, 888).
Severance season two will stream exclusively on Apple TV+.
