According to Deadline, Apple TV+’s bilingual comedy series Acapulco will return with a fourth season. Acapulco is filled with colorful sets, coming-of-age drama and witty comedy. It follows young adult Máximo Gallardo as he tries to make a name for himself after landing a cabana boy job at the most popular Acapulco resort, Las Colinas.

The series moves between Máximo’s life, comparing his past and present. The series’ events are told by an older Máximo, recalling younger days at Las Colinas while reconciling that a lot has changed with the resort in present times. Meanwhile, in 1985, younger Máximo is figuring out how to balance the relationships around him while trying to reach for success at the resort via Deadline. Older Máximo is played by Eugenio Derbez (Instructions Not Included, How to Be A Latin Lover), and younger Máximo is played by Enrique Arrizon (Marco & Luna, April’s Daughter).

Deadline revealed that season three of Acapulco was inspired by the feature film How to Be A Latin Lover, produced by Pantelion Films and 3Pas Studios. Season four will continue to carve out Máximo’s story, pushing Máximo’s past events into coexistence with his present problems.

Derbez spoke to the importance of Acapulco’s renewed season, saying, “It’s rare for shows centered on Latino stories to make it this far, and that makes this milestone even more meaningful” via Deadline.

As both star and executive producer on the series, Derbez continued to say, “Representation matters, and continuing to share these vibrant stories on a global stage is something Ben Odell and I are deeply proud of. Thank you for helping us break barriers and celebrate our culture. We can’t wait to dive back into Las Colinas for more fun, laughter, and heart with all of you!” as per Deadline.

Along with Derbez and Arrizon, the cast also includes the talents of Damián Alcázar (Hell, The Crime of Padre Amaro), Vanessa Bauche (Mi Secreto, Rosario Tijeras), Fernando Carsa (At Midnight, Human Connection), Regina Reynoso (You’ve Got This, The Accident), Camila Perez (Gotham, Who We Are Now), Jessica Collins (Catch Me If You Can, Tru Calling), Raphael Alejandro (Once Upon A Time, How To Be A Latin Lover), Regina Orozco (Deep Crimson, Get the Gringo), Chord Overstreet (Glee, Falling For Christmas), Carlos Corona (Gringo, El Señor de los Cielos) and Rafael Cebrián (Greenhouse Academy, Borgia) via Deadline.

Seasons one through three of Acapulco are available to stream on Apple TV+. The premiere of Acapulco season four has not yet been announced.
