According to Variety, Apple made an interesting announcement- Any Apple TV subscriber can sign up for six months of the service for a low $5.00 a month, which would be more than half off. The offer is available starting November 21st, and running through December 1st at tv.apple.com.

After the six-month promotion is over, the price will return to $12.99 a month. the deal will be retricted from potentail subscribers who are eligible for three free months of Apple TV with an Apple device purchase, similarly to those who purchase the subscription through a third party, according to Variety.

The streaming service used to be called Apple TV + before they dropped the plus sign a month prior. The rebrand was to give the streaming service a “vibrant new identity”.  They also used to be priced monthly at $9.99 before increasing to $12.99. It’s not the first price increase, as the streaming service used to be $6.99 monthly in 2022. All price changes happened in the span of three years, Variety says.

Apple TV is home to many popular shows, such as originals like Pluribus and others such as Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, and Slow Horses. Some others include Presumed Innocent and Dope Thief. A few notable movies include The Family Plan 2, which premiered on the service on November 21st, and F1 The Movie, with Brad Pitt as its star premiering on December 12th. The service also provides a plethora of kids shows such as both old and new Peanuts programs, and also offers Friday Night Baseball by MLB. In addition to those, Major League Soccer matches will be available to stream for no extra cost next year.

With 2026 being the lauching year, Apple TV will be the only streaming service in the US to stream Formula 1 races, obtaining a five-year deal. The deal is alleged to be worth about $750 million.
