Apple TV+ Pours Up Season Two Of Hit Wine Drama ‘Drops of God’

Apple TV+ announced they’ve acquired season two of the critically acclaimed drama Drops of God, based on the popular manga series and consisting of eight episodes.The series made its debut on April 23 of last year and follows the journey of Camille, played by Fleur Geffrier (Goliath), as she discovers that her late father’s inheritance contains some legendary wines. She fights against his protege, Issei, played by Tomohisa Yamashita (The Man from Toronto), to claim it.According to Comicbook, when the series arrived on the streaming service, it hit 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, showcasing to be a success in the live adaptation, and sure to be an even bigger hit in the second season.

Season one captured viewers with its unique blend of mystery and finished with a cliffhanger when Camille and Issei competed in a final test. Camille came out as the winner and wanted to split the money; however, Issei refused and left to search for his father.

The publisher, Kodansha official description via Comicbook,”In season two of  Drops of God, Camille (Geffrier) and Issei (Yamashita) once again face a nearly impossible challenge: to uncover the origin of the world’s most wonderful wine, a secret that even Alexandre Léger failed to unlock. Through a series of trials and tests, their quest will take them to far-flung corners of the globe, forcing them to face their inner demons and changing them forever.”

With the confirmation of Fleur and Tomohisa reprising their roles, the rest of the second season’s cast remains a mystery. Season two remains under the helm of director Oded Ruskin (Kfulim), ensuring a continuation of the show’s stylish visuals and captivating storytelling. While there is no news on the release date of the second season, the series will premiere globally. The first season is available to stream on Apple TV+.
