The critically acclaimed Apple TV+ comedy series Shrinking has wrapped filming on its third season, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Attached to the post is a video of Harrison Ford (Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Raiders Of The Lost Ark), who plays Dr. Paul Rhoades in the series, praising the crew and expressing interest in returning for a new season.
Shrinking follows the therapist Jimmy Laird, played by Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Muppets), who begins to tell his patients what he really thinks while processing the grief of his wife’s death.
According to IMDB, the series also stars Jessica Williams (The Incredible Jessica James, Road House) as fellow therapist Gaby, Luke Tennie (Shock And Awe, We Were Meant To) as a client named Sean, Michael Urie (Single All The Way, The Decoy Bride) as Jimmy’s friend Brian, and Lukita Maxwell (The Young Wife, Speechless) as Jimmy’s teenage daughter Alice.
The series is co-created by Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso, Thor: Love and Thunder), Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Cougar Town), and Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The End Of The Tour), all of whom serve as writers for the series. Episodes of the series are directed by Randall Keenan Wilson (Grace And Frankie, Cougar Town), James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, The End Of The Tour), and Zach Braff (Wish I Was Here, Oz The Great And Powerful).
In May, it was announced that Michael J Fox would be starring in major guest role in the show’s third season, ending his five-year hiatus from acting.
Since it’s premiere in 2023, Shrinking has seen critical acclaim and multiple Emmy nominations. The series was nominated for four Critics’ Choice awards and won three. With filming wrapped, it’s likely that more news an a release date will be revealed soon.
