Apple TV+, the rumored platform with the best shows no one has heard about, surprised commuters with a physical marketing activation for its hit series, Severance. Yesterday, the cast brought the workplace thriller to life in a pop-up in the middle of New York City’s Grand Central Station. Severance’s second season is set to premiere on Friday, January 17.
A passerby captured the physical demonstration live on Instagram, as main stars Adam Scott (Madame Web, Big Little Lies), Britt Lower (High Maintenance, Man Seeking Woman), Patricia Arquette (Boyhood, The Act), Tramell Tillman (Dietland, Godfather of Harlem), and Zach Cherry (You, Fallout) brought their Lumon characters to life within a glass cube resembling the show’s desolate office cubicle. A crowd gathered as the Innies, in full character, went about their workday in the Macrodata Refinement department. In addition to Mark, Helly, and Dylan keeping busy, their nefarious supervisors Milchik and Ms. Cobel, observed from a short distance. IndieWire captured photos of the full cast and their interactions on their Instagram page. Along with the main cast, EP and director Ben Stiller (The Cable Guy, Zoolander) was in attendance.

Debuting in 2022, the Apple TV original was created by Dan Erickson (Treasure Trouble) and follows the life of a depressed widower, played by Scott. To avoid his insurmountable grief, this former educator enlists to undergo severance, the premier procedure from Lumon Industries that splits one’s consciousness in two. While at work, these employees have no memory of their outside life; and when home, they have no recollection of the ongoing inside their office. Disguised as the peak achievement of the perfect work/life balance, Scott’s Mark S. and his coworkers discover a more sinister ploy that reaches beyond Lumon grounds.
Season one of Severance is available on Apple TV+. streaming on Roku, and for purchase on DVD. Its second season arrives to the streamer this Friday.
