Anthony Ramos is looking to join the upcoming Disney+ series, Ironheart, via Deadline. Ramos is known for his portrayal of the role Usnavi from In The Heights. He also played Ramon in the 2018 movie A Star Is Born. Deadline suggests that Ramos will be playing a key role in this Marvel Cinematic Universe series.
Ironheart features the story of the Marvel character Riri Williams, a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Since the death of her father, Riri lives with her mother Ronnie and her paternal aunt Sharon in Chicago. Riri is known for her wisdom as she attends MIT at the age of 15. The role was first introduced in 2016 in association with Iron Man. Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, eventually took notice and gave her his encouragement to pursue the life of a superhero.
The role of Ramos remains a mystery for now. But sources indicate that it will be similar to how Jonathan Majors (The Harder They Fall) was introduced as Kang the Conquer in Loki. Ramos may play in more MCU series as his character in Ironheart.
Ramos made his way to the mainstream with his participation in the iconic Broadway show Hamilton. Bradley Cooper (American Sniper, Nightmare Alley) then cast him in his remake of A Star Is Born. The film earned over 400 million dollars of box office and received eight Academy Award nominations. Ramos’ performance from In The Heights earned him a Golden Globe nomination this year. Other than Ironheart, he is also set to play in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Production of the series began in December 2020. Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer) reportedly serves as the head writer. Before Ironheart comes out, the character Riri Williams is set to make her debut in the MCU in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November.
The official release date of Ironheart is not yet available. The show is reportedly under post-production.
