An AMC press release indicates that a “pulse-pounding” trailer for the upcoming series Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order, which draws on the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, has been released. The trailer has raked in almost 100k views in two days and alludes to a dark and mysterious storyline full of detectives and baddies with supernatural powers. The new series is set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ just in time for the Halloween season, on October 26th.
The official trailer, featured below, shows an eerie setting as The Secret Order looks to recruit a new detective with a special power to hear things others cannot. As the plot thickens, the new recruit realizes that The Secret Order may have a few secrets of its own. They claim that the London headquarters of the Talamasca has been infiltrated, and their secret knowledge has been stolen, putting them in danger. The recruit finds out that his mother may be connected to the Talamasca and that a mass murder may need to be uncovered.
Variety reports that the official tagline of the series is “a secretive society called the Talamasca, comprised of the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other creatures scattered around the globe.” The show will have six episodes in its first season that will air on Sunday nights.
The press release mentions that Nicholas Denton (Glitch, Not Dark Yet) will take the leading role of Guy Anatole. Academy Award-winning Elizabeth McGovern (Ordinary People, The Handmaid’s Tale) will co-star in the role of Helen, a Talamasca veteran. The press release also mentions that there will be some crossover between Interview with a Vampire, which is in the same universe, as Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio, Wonderland) and Justin Kirk (Weeds, Angels in America) reprise their roles.
