Anna Grace Barlow Joins Fox Ballet Dramedy Series ‘The Big Leap’

Anna Grace Barlow (The Goldbergs) is lacing up her ballet slippers as she prepares to co-star in Fox’s upcoming series, The Big Leap. According to Deadline, the series is set to be a ballet-themed dramedy show-within-a-show series inspired by reality television.

The Big Leap, which is set to star Scott Foley (Scandal), Teri Polo (Meet the Fockers), and Piper Perabo (Angel Has Fallen) in addition to Barlow, is written by Liz Heldens (producer, Friday Night Lights), via Deadline. Described as a series about empowerment and second chances, The Big Leap centers on a reality television show that culminates in a live performance of Swan Lake. The reality series within the show pushes the characters to their limits as they each seek out their own individual paths towards their goals.

Barlow will star as an ultra-competitive dancer named Brittney Lovewell, who has trained her entire life to become a dancer. According to Deadline, Brittney will audition for and join the reality competition with her twin brother who has yet to be cast. She reacted to the news of her casting by posting a screenshot of the article to her Instagram.

According to Deadline, Barlow is best known for her role as Liza Levine in ABC’s The Goldbergs. She has also starred in recurring roles on both Supernatural and NCIS.

The Big Leap is produced by 20th Television and Fox Entertainment. Heldens, Jason Winer (producer, Modern Family), and Sue Naegle (producer, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) all serve as producers on the upcoming series, via Deadline. Winer is additionally attached as the director for the pilot episode of The Big Leap.
