The penultimate day of the 2025 Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California offered a look at some of the medium’s most exciting upcoming projects, from long-awaited continuations to eye-catching neophyte adaptations. Here are some of the biggest announcements from Saturday’s panels.

My Hero Academia Voice Actors, Editor, Mangaka Tease Final Season

Justin Briner (Solo Leveling, Ranking of Kings) and Daiki Yamashita (Blue Period, Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro), the respective English and Japanese voice actors for teenage superhero Deku, led the charge for the eighth and final season of My Hero Academia this October on Crunchyroll showing off new scenes of Class 1-A’s final battle against Tomura Shigaraki. The actors led one last “Plus Ultra!” chant with the audience, but not before manga editor Ryosuke Yoritomi (Dr. Stone: New World, HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle) shared a special illustration of Deku made by series creator Kohei Horikoshi (Oumagadoki Zoo, Barrage), who was unable to attend, with the audience. In an attached message also read by Yoritomi, Horikoshi wrote that he wanted “to make something that people looked back on and enjoyed the journey.” He also implied that finishing the original manga would allow him to be more involved with the production of the final season, meaning that those hoping for a one-to-one adaptation of the best-selling manga might just be in luck. “Let’s give it our all!”

One Punch Man Shatters A World Record To Promote Season Three 

While My Hero Academia fans prepared to go beyond, the minds behind fellow superhero anime One Punch Man were hyping up fans for a different kind of fight. Numerous voice actors, along with manga editor Toshiaki Oshima and producer Chinatsu Matsui (Trickster, Omuro-ke: Dear Sisters) led over 1,000 attendees in performing Saitama’s signature move, the Maji Naguri/ “Serious Punch”. The celebration was commemorated by a Guinness World Records representative, who presented the members of the panel with their award. Attendees each received a trading card to promote the series’ impending crossover with Union Arena — but those hoping for a sneak peek of One Punch Man’s third season, which releases in October, walked away empty-handed. If fans felt the blow, though,  the surprise appearance of Genos voice actor Kaito Ishikawa (Haikyu!!, My Happy Marriage) certainly softened it.

Dan Da Dan Voice Actors Talk Process, Tease More Battles For Supernatural Power Couple

Already airing the first few episodes of its newest season is Dan da Dan, last year’s runaway hit supernatural romantic comedy series. At an afternoon panel, the English voice actors for characters Momo, Okarun, and Jiji promoted the series’ second season (airing weekly on Hulu) and took on the challenge of dubbing an unfinished scene from season one in real time to rave reviews from the crowd. Anime director Fuga Yamashiro (Inu-Oh, Super Shiro) thanked fans for watching, and broke down some of the storyboarding behind the show’s eternally eye-catching opening.

Crunchyroll Bites Into A Slew Of New Trailers, Including a New Anime From Full Metal Alchemist Creator Hiromu Arakawa

Last but definitely not least, anime streamer Crunchyroll used their panel as an opportunity to give updates on a bevy of announced and unannounced shows coming to the streamer in the near future. Isekai Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation got trailers for their next seasons, while more drama-minded audiences cheered for premieres of Black Clover and Classroom of the Elite 2nd Year. Two new slice-of-life adaptations were also announced: the romance You and I Are Polar Opposites and the action spoof Tojima Wants To Be a Kamen Rider. The big surprise of the panel, though, was the reveal of Daemons of the Shadow Realm, an adaptation of a series by Full Metal Alchemist mangaka Hiromu Arakawa (Silver Spoon, The Heroic Legend of Arslan). Tomorrow, July 6th, will be the last day of Anime Expo 2025, leaving fans to wonder what surprises the convention might have left in store for what is shaping up to be one of anime’s biggest seasons yet.
