Andy Cohen’s best-selling book Most Talkative is becoming a coming-of-age comedy series on NBC. The book is about Cohen’s lifelong love of pop culture and television. The series is written by Gordon Greenberg (Holiday Inn: The New Irving Berlin Musical) and Michael Weiner (First Date on Broadway) and will be directed by Emmy winner Todd Holland (Malcolm in the Middle, 30 Rock). Jason Blum (Insidious, The Purge), Chris McCumber (The Visitor, Torn Hearts), Jeremy Gold (How You Look to Me, Low Winter Sun) and Chris Dickie (Black Box, Evil Eye) will executive produce for Blumhouse Television. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
“I’m tickled to use my childhood as the jumping off point for what I know will be a hilarious show” Cohen told Deadline, “and to work with an incredible team, including my pal Jason Blum and UTV.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Most Talkative is about 13-year-old Cohen growing up in the 1980s in St. Louis. As a closeted gay teenager, Cohen maneuvers through life by “not fitting into any one box and figuring out how to build your own.” This is displayed by being a huge Cardinals fan, while also being obsessed with soap operas.
THR lists Cohen is a writer, producer as well as being a radio and television host. Among Cohen’s unscripted hits are Project Runway, Top Chef, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and the Million Dollar Listing and Real Housewives franchises. He also has an Emmy-nominated show, called Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on late night TV which has been renewed for 2023 at Bravo. Cohen is the author of several New York Times best-selling books including Most Talkative: Stories From the Frontlines of Pop Culture which was published in 2012. It was his first book to make the NYT’s top-book list.
