According to an HBO Max press release Sex and the City spinoff series And Just Like That season three will be available for streaming starting May 29. The third season will continue to follow the lives of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda seventeen years after the wrap of Sex in the City.
The season will span over 12 episodes, releasing each Thursday, with a wrap date of August 14. The official trailer was posted by Max Apr. 15 and gives viewers glimpses of what’s to come in the newest addition to the series.
Season two left audiences wondering about the future of Carrie and her reignited love, Aidan’s, future relationship status, Charlotte was continuing to put effort into her family, and Cynthia was pursuing a new relationship. Samantha, played by Kim Cattrall (Mannequin, Police Academy), made an appearance last season as well.
The show stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Hocus Pocus, Failure to Launch), Cynthia Nixon (Ratched, The Gilded Age), Kristin Davis (Couples Retreat, Deck the Halls), Sarita Choudhury (Homeland, The Green Knight), Nicole Ari Parker (Empire, Chicago P.D.), Cathy Ang (Over the Moon, My Love Affair with Marriage), Mehcad Brooks (Supergirl, True Blood), Jonathan Cake (Desperate Housewives, The Affair), Mario Cantone (Men in Trees, Surf’s Up), Niall Cunningham (Life in Pieces, Succession) and David Eigenberg (Chicago Fire, The Mothman Prophecies).
And Just Like That is developed by Michael Patrick King (The Comeback, 2 Broke Girls), who also serves as an executive producer. He is joined by executive producers John Melfi (House of Cards, Nurse Jackie), Parker, Kristin, Nixon, Julie Rottenberg (Smash, Odd Mom Out), Elisa Zuritsky (Smash, Odd Mom Out), and Susan Fales-Hill (A Different World, Linc’s).
The original HBO series Sex and the City, which inspired this follow-up, was created by Darren Star (Emily in Paris, Beverly Hills, 90210) and based on the book by Candace Bushnell (Lipstick Jungle, Four Blondes).
