Amy Schumer and John Oliver Respond to ‘Gilmore Girls’ Teaser

Earlier in the week, fans of Gilmore Girls were elated when Netflix released promo trailer and the release date of the rebooted series as part of their TCA panel.

In the trailer that was released, Lorelai asked Rory if she thinks she’d be friends with Amy Schumer, to which Rory said she wouldn’t. Well, contrary to Rory’s belief, Amy Schumer responded almost immediately after the trailer was released, according to E! Online.

Schumer also sent out two tweets about the trailer, where she confirmed that her and Lorelai would in fact be good friends.

John Oliver, who also was mentioned in the trailer for the show, also responded to the video, where Lorelai asked Rory if John Oliver would find her hot. Oliver happened to be a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and, according to E! Online, he would indeed find Lorelai hot.

While he was on the show, he also talked about vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine, but at the 5:46 mark, Colbert shows him the clip of Lorelai asking if John Oliver would find her hot. Oliver responded, saying “Lorelai, the answer is yes. I do find you hot. And I’ll tell you why: I’m a red-blooded male with an in-built heat detector. And my heat detector registers you as en fuego.”

Does that mean Luke has more competition for Lorelai’s affections, since Christopher (David Sutcliffe) is making an appearance in the Netflix show? Only time will tell.

However, as adorable as the Gilmore Girls trailer is, TVLine has confirmed that the scene won’t be in the actual show, saying that creator/writer/director Amy Sherman-Palladino wrote the scene for use of the trailer only.

Sherman-Palladino also said she was slightly upset that Netflix made the decision to release all of the episodes at once, since people could skip to the last scene in the last installment to find out what the famous last four words of the show are going to be and spoil it online for the other viewers of the show who are watching it episode-by-episode.

Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life premieres on Netflix on Friday, Nov. 25.
