Amazon gave the green light for Amy B. Harris (Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries) and Jason Reilly (Jane the Virgin, Puppy Love) to develop their latest project together. According to the Deadline exclusive, this latest drama would be titled Teton. This was based on an idea made by their colleague, Grammy-nominated country musician Cameron Duddy (Mr. Lonely, Drinkin’ Problem).
The engines are roaring as Amazon puts this project into motion. Now it is full steam ahead as it’s reported to be in a rapid development stage. Teton is described as an upstairs-downstairs drama set in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This narrative involves a woman named Kick Taylor who struggles to find her footing after returning home. Her community is fighting to hold on to its identity in the face of wealth and greed.
It goes on further to explain that she is a ski racing phenom. – She returns to her hometown to contend with the emotional meltdown she had on tour, the ramifications of her mother’s death, and the family and friends she left behind in her pursuit of gold. As Kick struggles to find her footing, she and her tight knit mountain community – made up of a group of eccentric but lovable locals and powder hounds – fight to hold on to what makes this the most special place on earth all while catering to the wealthiest people in the world. via Deadline.
According to the description, it will involve “epic skiing, envy-inducing real estate, apres ski cocktails, cozy nights around a fire, a moose encounter or two, and high stakes drama as Kick reckons with whether it is possible to ‘go big AND go home,’” via Deadline.
As of now, no announcements have been made yet for any cast. Both Harris and Reilly would serve as the showrunners and main writers for the series. Joining them would be Duddy as well as Temple Hill Entertainment’s Marty Bowen (First Man, Dave), Wyck Godfrey (I, Robot, First Man) and Phoebe Zimmer (The Dictator, Tevon). This project is produced collaboratively by Harris’ A.B. Baby Productions, Temple Hill Entertainment, and Amazon Studios. More would be reported on as more announcements come out, including the release date, number of episodes, and runtime for each episode.
