As American Idol enters its thirteenth season, contestants will be allowed to bring guitars into the audition room.
On July 9, Fox series’ official site posted, “Bring out your guitars and show us what you’ve got!” However, those auditioning with guitars must sing a capella first, and if granted permission, may continue the audition accompanied by a six-string.
The auditions for the upcoming season will take place in Salt Lake City beginning July 11. Singers may also audition online.
