September 12 welcomed the new season of American Horror Story on FX. The new season, Apocalypse introduced a key character from the shows first season, Murder House.
The Apocalypse premiere started out blunt, with the end of the world. The first episode, in fact, was titled “The End”. The episode starts off in Beverly Hills where news of bombs dropping and destroying cities, with one coming straight for Los Angeles, is emerging. A select few, picked by genetics or simply due to having enough money to buy a ticket, must survive in a bunker called Outpost Three. The Outpost is ruled by Ms. Wilhemina Venable (Sarah Paulson) and her sidekick Ms. Miriam Mead (Kathy Bates).
A group called The Cooperative are the ones who formed the idea and plans of the Outposts in which the survivors are hiding. Those who were chosen to join are the “Purples”, Timothy Campbell (Kyle Allen) and Emily (Ash Santos) and the “Greys”, Mallory (Billie Lourd). Among the rich are socialite Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt (Leslie Grossman), Hollywood hairdresser Mr. Gallant (Evan Peters) and his wealthy grandmother Evie Gallant (Joan Collins), and actress Dinah Stevens (Adina Porter).
Unbeknowing to the others, Ms. Venable and Ms. Miriam have decided to abandon The Cooperative and install their own rules. A dull 18 months later, none other than Michael Langdon (Cody Fern) makes an appearance as Ms. Venable and Ms. Miriam’s boss.
If you need a refresher, Michael Langdon was the baby from season one’s Murder House who was conceived by Vivian Harmon (Connie Britton) and Tate Langdon (Peters). The boy very clearly turned out to be demonic in the sense. He was nothing good.
The end of the world was a prophesy made during Murder House when Michael was named the Antichrist, due to him being conceived by a human (Vivien) and a spirit (Tate). A medium, Billie Dean Howard (Paulson) warned how he would “usher in the end of times.”
There was also a promise of the connection of the third season, Coven, so we’ll have to watch and see. Apocalypse should definitely be intriguing, so stay tuned every Wednesday at 10 P.M. EST on FX to find out what happens next.
