Finally some good news for 2020 TV shows: TBS announced earlier today that satirical animated sitcom American Dad! will be back on April 13 to celebrate its 15th anniversary with the episode “100 Years a Solid Fool”. For the occasion, the network will focus on each character with every day episodes handpicked by executive producers Brian Boyle and Matt Weitzman. American Dad! even got the luxury to co-wrote an episode with Canadian singer The Weeknd who will voice his own character and offer an exclusive song.
Originally on Fox, the comedy moved to TBS in 2014 and released 276 episodes over 16 seasons. Since its debut, Seth MacFarlane’ series kept accumulating rewards: with 18 million viewers last season, American Dad! was nominated for multiple Emmy awards, guest starred personalities like Kim Kardashian or Shannon Sharpe and even won an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers award in 2013.
American Dad! centers around CIA agent Stan Smith (MacFarlane) living in Langley Falls, VA. Overly loyal to his country, arrogant and abrasive, Stan lives with his wife Francine (Wendt Schaal), his left-wing daughter Hayley (Rachael MacFarlane) and his dorky son Steve (Scott Grimes). When not busy arguing or fighting terrorists, the Smiths also share the house with an eccentric alien saved from Area 51 named Roger (MacFarlane) and Klaus (Dee Bradley Baker), a CIA experiment goldfish who gained the brain of a German Olympic skier. Altogether, this family will live unconventional adventures around the CIA, patriotism and conspiracies with lots of dark humor.
The new episode will be released on TBS, April 13 at 10 p.m.
