During the Golden Globe awards, America Ferrera and Eva Longoria cleverly mocked those who can’t seem to distinguish one Latina actress from another.

In the video Longoria introduces herself as “Eva Longoria not Eva Mendes.” Then Ferrera says “Hi I’m America Ferrera not Gina Rodriguez.”
During the nominations, the Golden Globes confused Ferrera with Gina Rodriguez the star of Jane the Virgin. On their official twitter account, the Golden Globes posted two tweets mistaking the two actresses. In one of their promotional tweets, they posted a picture of their four announcers (America Ferrera, Chloe Grace Moretz, Angela Bassett, Dennis Quaid).
Here is the post below:
The tweet above mentions Rodriguez although it was Ferrera shown in the picture. The mistake wasn’t corrected until after the second tweet during the announcements.
In a recent interview with the hosts of The Talk, Longoria was asked about the bit at the Golden Globes and she commented on how she’s always getting confused for Eva Mendes. Watch the full clip below:
In the video, Longoria also gave full credit to Ferrera for the bit they did at the Golden Globes.
This isn’t the first time Ferrera used her wit to make a point. Back in October, Ferrera made a parody of the “Can You Name 20 Latinos” game where Tina Fey couldn’t name 20 Latino actors in 60 seconds. In regards to the “LaTina Fey” video, Ferrera told Huffington Post that “it’s telling and sad, but it certainly isn’t adorable or entertaining to those who are the butt of the joke. We turned the tables in our video to show just how ridiculous it feels when you’re on the other side.”
Both Longoria and Ferrera currently hold lead roles in two separate NBC comedy TV series. In Superstore, Ferrera plays Amy, a manager at a Walmart-esque megastore who consistently deals with all kinds of wild antics from co-workers and from customers while she’s on the clock. In Telenovela, Longoria portrays Ana Sofia, the star of a popular Spanish language soap opera called Las Leyes De Pasion (The Laws of Passion). Ana Sofia’s off-camera life resembles the drama-filled chaos on the sitcom.
