AMC just released a new Fear the Walking Dead trailer at San Diego Comic-Con Friday Afternoon, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Fans got to hear from the cast of the zombie series at Comic-Con on Friday afternoon. Executive Producers Dave Erickson, David Alpert, Robert Kirkman, and Gale Anne Hurd joined cast members Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Mercedes Mason, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, and Colman Domingo at the popular San Diego event. New cast member Danay Garcia also joined to talk about the upcoming season.
The Fear the Walking Dead panel was moderated by Chris Hardwick, the host of Talking Dead. The first half of the series concluded after the the L.A. survivors split up. Daniel set the Mexican compound on fire, killing himself and the rest of the walkers that were with him. Nick stayed behind because he wanted to be one with the zombies (sorta). Travis decided to take off with Chris after his son was showing clear signs of insanity (after trying to kill Alicia and almost letting Madison get eaten alive). And the rest of the group stayed together. The rest of the season will take place on land this time around, and the group will stay in Mexico for the time being.
Watch the trailer below to see what else is to come:
Erickson told the crowd at Comic Con “They understand there’s no turning back. We’re going to see a level of violence and intensity in the second half that we haven’t seen before.” Hurd added “We’re really going to see a lot of things that you probably have never seen on television before during the zombie apocalypse.”
Erickson also talked about the new character Luciana (Garcia), who lives in the Tijuana area, where Nick comes across a group of people somewhat similar to Celia because they “don’t see the dead as a bad thing.” Garcia went on to describe her character as “a badass soldier in this group” and “an orphan of the apocalypse…The two of them form a bond. She’s testing him. She puts him in his place until he passes that test.”
During the Q&A, a fan asked who they thought Negan killed, but no one answered that question.
Fear the Walking Dead returns on August 21.
