As reported by Deadline, AMC’s hit series Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches are set to cross over, according to executive producer Mark Johnson. During AMC’s TCA press tour, Johnson revealed that there are “ongoing conversations” about how to bring the two series together, with the showrunner and exec producer of Mayfair Witches also confirming that there is one character who appears in both shows and connects the two in a “strange way”, per Deadline.
Interview with the Vampire launched on October 2 and was renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere. Mayfair Witches premiered on January 8.
Interview with the Vampire is a contemporary adaptation of Anne Rice’s gothic novel Interview With the Vampire and follows the story of Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson, Game of Thrones), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid, The Newsreader), and Claudia (Bailey Bass, Avatar: The Way of Water) as they navigate love and immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian, Operation Nemesis). Rice, Johnson, showrunner Rolin Jones (Perry Mason), Christopher Rice (Sapphire Sunset), and Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) serve as executive producers.
The eight-part series Mayfair Witches is based on Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy and focuses on an intuitive young neurosurgeon, Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario, The White Lotus), who discovers she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations. The series also stars Jack Huston (House of Gucci), Tongayi Chirisa (Mr Bones), and Harry Hamlin (Clash of the Titans), and is produced by AMC Studios and executive produced by showrunner Esta Spalding (Would Be Kings), Johnson, Michelle Ashford (Masters of Sex), Michael Uppendahl (American Horror Story), and Jeff Freilich (Grace and Frankie).
Fans of both series are excited for this crossover event, as they anticipate seeing how the worlds of the vampire and witch characters will intersect, with the easter egg character that connects the two shows in a strange way as added bonus.
