AMC’s Anne Rice Series Finds Lead For ‘The Talamasca’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMC Network reveals the new star for Anne Rice’s (Quenn of the Damned, Exit to Eden) Immortal Universe. Nicholas Denton (Dangerous Liaisons, Not Dark Yet) will lead the third show in the franchise. The Immortal Universe includes Interview With the VampireMayfair Witches and now The Talamasca. The series is described as a drama focused on the secretive society, The Talamasca, featured in Rice’s novels. The season, consisting of six episodes, will focus on tracking and containing witches, vampires and other creatures scattered around the globe.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Denton will be playing the lead role of Guy Anatole, a character described as “brilliant, handsome and sharp on the surface, but he’s always known his mind works a little differently.”

The story of Guy is further described as follows: “Guy, on the cusp of graduating law school, is approached by a representative of the Talamasca, ‘a secretive agency that monitors and protects us from the supernatural world.’ When Guy learns that the Talamasca has been tracking him since his childhood, he falls headlong into a world of secret agents and immortal beings who, up to now, have maintained a fragile balance with the mortal world. But for that balance to hold, and for Guy to survive, he will have to learn to embrace the dark, treacherous depths of his true and singular self.”

The series will be produced by John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) and Mark Lafferty (The Right Stuff, Halt and Catch Fire), who also serve as co-showrunners, and, and Mark Johnson (Rain Man), who oversees the Anne Rice Immortal Universe.

The rest of the Immortal Universe have been given positive updates as the first series in the franchise Interview With the Vampire recently concluded its second season and has been renewed for a third. Mayfair Witches will also return with a second season premiere in early 2025.

The Talamasca is scheduled to air in 2025 on AMC and AMC+, with production on the series starting next month.
