The first teaser for AMC’s The Audacity previews the first series from award-winning writer and prodcuer, Jonathan Glatzer (Better Call Saul, Succession). The eight-episode series arrives Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC and AMC+. View the teaser below.
Per the AMC press release, the official synopsis reads as follows: Set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, The Audacity takes on the warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses of the self-styled inventors of the future. In a world of jaded billionaires, psychiatrist-gurus, bio-hacked tech bros, AI labs and disillusioned teens being optimized in elite private schools, an audacious data-mining CEO (Billy Magnussen) strives to turn insight and influence into profit and power. The darkly comedic drama confronts reality, privacy, and the delusions fueling our ever-changing world.
The teaser shows Magnussen’s (Elsbeth, Black Mirror) CEO Duncan Park baiting his employees with a tease of some great news. Unfortunately, it seems he’s trying to convince himself more than others that things are on the up-and-up.
The series boasts a strong cast featuring Everett Blunck (The Plague, Blood for Dust) as Orson Stern, Zach Galifianakis (Tooned Out, Lilo & Stitch) as Carl Bardolph, Sarah Goldberg (The Report, The Dark Knight Rises) as Dr. JoAnne Felder, Lucy Punch (Into the Woods, Bad Teacher) as Lili Park-Hoffsteader, Rob Corddry (The Senior, This Fool) as Tom Ruffage and Simon Helberg (As They Made Us, American Dad!) as Martin Phister.
Rounding out the cast are Ava Marie Telek (Happy Face, Tracker) as Jamison Park-Hoffsteader, Meaghan Rath (New Girl, Accused) as Anushka Bhattachera-Phister, Thailey Roberge (Reginald the Vampire, Wayward Pines) as Tess Phister, Paul Adelstein (All’s Fair, Agatha All Along) as Dr. Gary Felder, and special guest star, Randall Park (WandaVision, Always Be My Maybe) as the company’s CFO, Gabe.
Joining Glatzer on the creative side are executive producer Gina Mingacci (Killing Eve, The Prime Gig) and directors Lucy Forbes (In My Skin, This Is Going to Hurt), Dan Sackheim (True Detective, The X Files), Dan Longino (Overcompensating, PEN15) and Alex Buono (Russian Doll, Based on a True Story). The show is produced at AMC Studios, with the network owning the worldwide rights.
