AMC Releases Sneak Peek For ‘The Vampire Lestat’ After Recently Releasing Single

AMC has given fans another look into the world of Vampire Lestat. This time, it is a sneak peek to pair with the single that was released prior. The Vampire Lestat takes place in the legendary Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe. The new scene, entitled “The Book,” shows Lestat played by Sam Reid (’71, Belle)  thoughts when he is shown Daniel Molloy’s played by Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio, Wonderland) new book Interview With A Vampire.

AMC has released a description for the series: “In the new rock and roll centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by ‘muses’ from his wild and rebellious past. As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population. “

Joining Reid and Bogosian in the cast are Assad Zaman (Interview With A Vampire, Hotel Portifino), Delainey Hayles (Too Close, Interview With A Vampire) and Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark Thirty, A Quiet Passion). Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Holdovers) created the show and executive producer.  Rolin Jones (Weeds, Friday Night Lights), Hannah Moscovitch (Little Bird, X Company), Christopher Rice (Heaven Rise, A Destiny Of Souls). Anne Rice (Interview With A Vampire, The Queen Of The Dammed) executive produces posthumously.

The single entitled ‘Long Face’ is the first track in a list of many that will premiere in the months leading up to the show. The song was produced by Lakeshore Records and AMC Networks. It is available to stream on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. The track was composed by Daniel Hart (The Old Man & The Gun, The Green Knight) and performed by Reid.

Reid, in character, spoke on the single, “Long Face is the first song Daniel Hart ‘produced’ for my album.  He decided early on to steal where he could from Bowie because he hasn’t had an original idea for five years now (is that his Green Knight score fading in the rear view?) As for Long Face, the bass should have walked down with the guitar at the end instead of pedaling on E. Predictable. Like everything Daniel Hart touches.”
