The Night Manager is an original six-part mini-series which in addition to AMC will be produced by BBC One and The Ink Factory. The short-form series will bring together love, loss, and revenge in a complex story of modern criminality.
In The Night Manager, British soldier Jonathan Pine (Hiddleston) is recruited by intellegence operative Angela Burr (Colman) to infiltrate the inner circle of international businessman Richard Onslow Roper (Laurie) and destroy the dastardly alliance he formed with the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. In order for Pine to reach the heart of Roper’s vast empire, he must deal with the intense interrogations of his venal cheif of staff Major Corkoran (HOllander) and the allure of Roper’s beautiful girlfriend Jed (Elizabeth Debicki). In his quest to do what’s right, Pine first has to become a criminal.
The Night Manager is one of John Carré’s most popular and critical acclaimed books. The story fuses organized crime with double agents. Carré’s novel was also a best-seller in both the United States and the UK and it has been translated into over 20 languages and has sold over a million copies in North America alone.
The executive producers for the upcoming mini-series include Simon Cornwell, Stephen Cornwell, Stephen Garrett and John Le Carré. Writer David Farr also serves as an executive producer along with Academy Award winner Susanne Bier, who directed drama series.
You can catch The Night Manager when it debuts this month on April 19th at 10 p.m ET/PT.
