AMC Releases ‘Lucky Hank’ Trailer Starring Bob Odenkirk

Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul, Nobody) stars as a frazzled professor in AMC’s Lucky Hank. The official trailer for this new series dropped this Wednesday, February 15.

The series’ pilot episode will also air on BBC America, IFC, and SundanceTV, in addition to AMC and its streamer AMC+. Odenkirk takes on the role of professor William Henry Devereaux Jr., the English department chair at Railton College, a poorly funded university in the Pennsylvania rust belt.

Throughout the show, viewers will follow Hank as he goes through a mid-life crisis rooted in “unresolved issues with his father, a mediocre and entitled student body, and in the fact that his department is more savagely divided than the Balkans,” via IndieWire. As Hank’s life continues to spiral, his wife Lily, the vice principal of the town’s local high school, begins to question her path and life decisions. Lily will be played by Mireille Enos (The Killing, If I Stay).

The series also stars Sara Amini (The Hollywood Star Girl, The Twilight Zone), Diedrich Bader (Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, Napolen Dynamite) ,Suzanne Cryer (Silicon Valley, Friends & Lovers), Olivia Scott Welch (Panic, Shithouse), and Cedric Yarbrough (RENO 911!, The House).

Aaron Zelman (The Killing, Law & Order) and Paul Lieberstein (The Office, King of the Hill) developed AMC’s Lucky Hank for television and will serve as the show’s showrunners for the duration of the first season. The two will also executive produce alongside Odenkirk, director Peter Farrelly (Greenbook, Dumb and Dumber), Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe) Naomi Odenkirk (Melvin Goes to Dinner, Derek and Simon: The Show), Marc Provissiero (Nobody, PEN15), and Jessica Held (To All the Boys I’ve Loved BeforeThe Perfect Date). AMC Studios produces the series in partnership with Sony Pictures’ Television TriStar TV and Johnson’s Gran Via.

Lucky Hank will make its world premiere at the Austin’s SXSW festival on March 11, before making its television debut on March 19.
