AMC Networks released a season three sneak peek for Dark Winds, a thriller series starring Zahn McClarnon (Westworld, Fargo) as Joe Leaphorn, Kiowa Gordon (The Red Road, Roswell) as Jim Chee, Jessica Matten (Rez Ball, Tribal) as Bernadette Manuelito and Denna Allison (Accused, Edge of America) as Emma Leaphorn. The sneak peek features the first five minutes of the season three premiere episode, which will be released March 9 at 9 p.m. eastern time. The preview was posted the morning of Feb. 10 and has over 2,300 views.
According to AMC, the new season is set six months after season two and follows the investigation of two missing boys, led by Leaphorm (McClarnon) and Chee (Gordon). Allison (Manuelito) is starting her new job at border patrol, based 500 miles away, but is getting involved with a human trafficking and drug smuggling conspiracy. The season will feature eight episodes.
Dark Winds was created by Graham Roland (Neuromancer, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) and is based upon a series of novels titled Leaphorn & Chee by the late Tony Hillerman (Listening Woman, Blessing Way). Executive producers for the show include famous film star Robert Redford (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Indecent Proposal) and George R.R. Martin, creator of the Game of Thrones series. Additional producers include Tina Elmo (The Mustang, Sex in the City), Jim Chory (Heros, Jessica Jones), Chris Eyre (Smoke Signals, Edge of America) and Vince Geradis (Game of Thrones, Jumper). John Wirth (Hell of Wheels, Hap and Leonard) is the showrunner.
Fans of the show will be able to choose between watching the show on network or streaming. The season will be released on AMC and AMC+, with weekly episodes airing Sundays.
