Amazon Prime has recently renewed its mind-bending and time raveling series, Undone, for a second outing. The series is created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Kate Purdy with Rosa Salazar as the lead. Amazon’s decision comes on the heels of Purdy recently signing an overall deal with Amazon Studios.
“It’s been wonderful to share Undone and have people watching become part of the experience as they interpret the show through their own perceptions of reality,” Purdy and Bob-Waksberg commented in a joint statement. “We are thrilled Amazon Studios is giving us the opportunity to keep exploring this world and these characters, and we look forward to seeing where the story takes us next – but since time is a construct, in a way, we already made the second season and you have always been watching it all along!”
Amazon Studios’ co-head of television and COO Albert Cheng also added, “We’re so excited for a second season of this wholly unique, visually stunning and critically acclaimed series. Undone is beautifully done in every sense of the word, aesthetically and emotionally, and we’re very happy Undone will return for our Prime Video customers around the world.”
Originally premiering on Sept. 13, the genre-bending half-hour animated dramedy followed Alma Winograd-Diaz as a young woman who is suffers from a fatal car accident and subsequently tries to come to terms with the cause of it. After waking up in the hospital, Winograd-Diaz begins to have visions of her dead father who is played by Better Call Saul‘s Bob Odenkirk. As the season progresses, her father encourages her latent but mysteriously new ability to time travel through out space and time all in the hopes of preventing his death.
Life in Pieces’ Angelique Cabral and Switched at Birth’s Constance Marie also co-star.
