Amazon Studios Announce Writers for ‘Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina’ Animated Series

From the minds at Amazon Studios, the Critical Role team, and Titmouse productions, a new adult animated series is arriving soon with accomplished writers to conduct the show’s narrative development, according to Bubble Blabber. The series, Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina, is derived from Critical Role, a world-building media company, where individuals participate in a roleplaying game. Yet, as time allowed, Critical Role developed into a multiplatform entertainment medium for fans to consume various original shows in addition to podcasts, comic books, and other content options. The entertainment platform has risen in popularity since its 2012 debut, with its fan base eagerly awaits its weekly adventures presented by the company’s premier storytellers.

Critical Role released an animated special, titled The Legend of Vox Machina, which led to larger fanfare over the series and its landing at the Amazon production studios. Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina centers around a group of adventurers on a mission to protect and serve their realm from evil figures and dark forces from beyond. With an existing fanbase, the attraction for writers to work on the series was high, allowing for Amazon, Critical Role, and Titmouse to announce veteran writers to provide their perspectives on the series story arcs.

The writers’ room for the series includes Ashly Burch (Adventure Time), Chris Wyatt (Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man), Jennifer Muro (Star Wars: Forces of Destiny), Brandon Auman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Star Wars Resistance), Daniel Thomsen (Westworld), as well as and Eugene Son (Ben 10: Omniverse) serving as the story editor and Titmouse’s Meredith Kecshemety as a writer’s assistant.

In addition to some of the series’ writers, the announcement also included Chris Prynoski (from Big Mouth) as the executive producer alongside Sung Jin Ahn (from Niko and the Sword of Light) as the supervision director. The collection of these veteran television writers with established producers has been met with high hopes for the series from Critical Role’s fanbase. With experienced writers in the science fiction, fantasy, and superhero worlds, fans of Critical Role original content will be satisfied with the continuation of adventure storytelling with trusted hands at the wheel.
