Amazon released a new trailer for the Emmy winning dramedy, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, on Oct. 14. The trailer for the show’s third season shows the beloved characters venturing out of New York City, experiencing life and opportunities beyond the Big Apple.
The critically acclaimed show’s season two ended with Midge, played by Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards, Patriots Day) and her faithful manager Susie, played by Alex Borstein (Family Guy, Catwoman), hitting the road together. After the series finale ended with Midge accepting an offer to be Shy Baldwin’s (Leroy McClain) opening act, this trailer picks up where they left off. The new trailer shows the duo’s journey, dealing with the ups and downs of fame and the tour lifestyle.
“This is the big leagues, kid. Gotta start acting like professionals,” Susie reminds Midge in the latest trailer. Within the first 14 hours of its release, the trailer has attracted over half a million views.
The eight time Emmy winning show follows the iconic duo’s journey through the world of comedy. The comedy tour will feature numerous stops overseas as a part of a United Service Organization (USO) tour and major cities like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago and Miami.
Midge will not be the only one experiencing big changes this season; the series’ new season is going to showcase Susie embarking on a new adventure as well. The fan favorite manager will be encountering new responsibilities with her latest job. At the end of season two, Susie is offered a new position as Sophie Lennon’s (played by Jane Lynch) manager. She is bound to stumble upon a few eccentric escapades during her time with the superstar comedian.
The trailer also features series newcomer Sterling K. Brown (This is Us, Black Panther). He announced his casting in April, sharing his excitement to be part of the show. “The Palladinos (the show’s creators) were kind enough to write a little something for your boy, and I said yes … I’m getting together with Midge and it’s going to be awesome.”
Fans will also be seeing Liza Weil (Gilmore Girls, How To Get Away With Murder) in the series’ upcoming season, though the details about her role still remain unknown.
The new season will showcase Joel struggling to support Midge “while pursuing his own dreams, Abe embracing a new mission and Rose [learning] that she has talents of her own,” according to the show’s synopsis.
The Golden Globe winning show will premiere Dec. 6 on Amazon.
