According to an Amazon Prime Video press release, the sophomore season trailer for The Boys has been released, along with key art for the series. The eight-episode Amazon original is only available on the streaming platform and is produced by Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television Studios with Point Grey Pictures, Kripke Enterprises and Original Film.
The Boys debuted in 2019 and surrounds the story of a group of vigilantes fighting against superheroes who abuse their power and influence. Season 2 picks up from the group in hiding and separated, with their mission being to come together and fight Vought, a corrupt company that enhances humans into Supes, or superheroes.
It stars Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Billy Butcher; Jack Quiad (The Hunger Games) as Hughie Campbell; Antony Starr (Wish You Were Here) as Homelander; Erin Moriarty (The Kings of Summer) as Anne January; Dominique McElligott (Leap Year) as Queen Maeve; Jessie T. Usher (Shaft) as A-Train; Laz Alonso (Avatar) as Mother’s Milk; Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) as The Deep; Tomer Capon (One Week and a Day) as Frenchie; Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad) as The Female; Nathan Mitchell (Supernatural) as Black Noir; and Elizabeth Shue (The Karate Kid) as Madelyn Stillwell.
Along with a second season, The Boys is already scheduled for a third season. The first three episodes of season two premiere Friday, September 4. From there, new episodes will be available weekly. Watch the trailer for The Boys below:
