The Amazon Prime Video original series The Boys premiered its second season on Friday, September 4 with its first three episodes. For the remainder of the season, the show will be releasing one new episode each Friday. According to Screen Rant, The Boys and Prime Video released a short teaser trailer for the upcoming fourth episode of the on-going season which will premiere on Friday, September 11. The second season will conclude on October 9 with its eighth and final episode of the second installment.
Created by Eric Kripke (Supernatural), The Boys premiered on Prime Video in the summer of 2019 with an eight-episode first season. The series centers on Hughie Campbell in his quest to avenge the death of his girlfriend Robyn at the hands of the supes that are idolized globally. He is recruited by another vigilante Billy Butcher, portrayed by Karl Urban (Red, Dredd), to fight back on these power abusing supes and the corporation that controls them in Vought. The series cast includes Quaid, Urban, Laz Alonso (Avatar), Tomer Capon (Fauda), Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad), Erin Moriarty (True Detective), Antony Starr (Banshee), Dominique McElligott (Hell on Wheels, House of Cards), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), and Jessie T. Usher (Survivor’s Remorse, Shaft). The second season has added the likes of Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Shawn Ashmore (X-Men, The Following), Aya Cash (You’re the Worst), and Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio, King of Queens).
The Boys is executive produced by the likes of Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious, Prison Break), Phil Sgriccia (Smallville, Supernatural), Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, Black Mirror), Evan Goldberg (Sausage Party, Superbad), Seth Rogen (Superbad, The Interview), and Kripke himself.
