Amazon Prime Video has released information surrounding the development of a new streaming series, entitled The Cleaners, which will be executive produced by Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) and overseen by Dominic Orlando (Mindhunter, The OA), according to Deadline. The developing Amazon Prime streaming series will be executive produced by Adam Karasick (Undeclared, Vegas), Ken Liu (Pantheon, The Three Body Problem), in addition to Bloom and Amazon Studios overseeing production.
The Cleaners is based on the tale from Hans Christian Andersen’s The Princess and The Pea which is being loosely adapted to the small screen for this upcoming Prime Video project. The Cleaners will center on an unforeseen future that features citizens of this new world being able to revisit old memories through the physical touch of inanimate objects that carry these certain moments in time. The television program will center on a man taking on his family cleaning business in this new world and the adventures that come along with it.
The Cleaners acts as the second television series project under Bloom’s deal with the Amazon streaming service following the announcement of another series following human rights lawyer Jared Genser.
Currently, there is no cast announced for the upcoming Prime Video series. Additionally, there is yet to be a word on the expected production date for The Cleaners.
