Amazon Freevee has announced the renewal of Bosch: Legacy for a third season prior to the presentation at the Amazon NewFront event. This announcement comes ahead of the premiere of the show’s second season, which is set to air this fall, according to an Amazon Studios press release. The Freevee series, like its predecessor Bosch on Prime Video, is also based on Michael Connelly’s Bosch novels.
According to Amazon Studios, in Bosch: Legacy, Harry Bosch, played by Titus Welliver (The Town, Sons of Anarchy), a former homicide detective turned private investigator, begins a new chapter in his career, while attorney Honey “Money” Chandler, played by Mimi Rogers (Austin Powers: International Spy, Lost in Space), struggles to maintain faith in the justice system after surviving an attempted murder, and Maddie Bosch, played by Madison Lintz (The Walking Dead, Parental Guidance), navigates the challenges of being a rookie patrol cop in Los Angeles. In Season Two, Bosch and Chandler team up to track down a killer who may find them first. Meanwhile, after being kidnapped by a masked attacker, Maddie’s law enforcement future is uncertain. As they search for Maddie, Bosch, and Chandler face FBI scrutiny in the investigation of Carl Rogers’ murder.
“What a gift and a joy it is to be able to dig into these characters again and take their stories even further,” said Michael Connelly (Blood Work, The Lincoln Lawyer), writer and executive producer. “Ten years ago, we began this amazing journey, partnering with Prime Video and now Amazon Freevee, and I couldn’t be happier with what we’ve done and will do.”
The cast includes Jamie Hector (Queen of the South, All Eyez on Me) portraying Detective Jerry Edgar, David Marciano (The Shield, Homeland) portraying Detective Brad Conniff, Stephen A. Chang (Shameless, The Last of Us: Part II) portraying Maurice “Mo” Bassi, DaJuan Johnson (Grey’s Anatomy, Agent Carter) portraying Rondell Pierce, Denise Sanchez (The Good Place, Mayans M.C.) portraying Detective Reina Vasquez, Jacqueline Obradors (Six Days Seven Nights, NYPD Blue) portraying Christine Vega, Cynthia Kaye Williams (Coyote, Real Husbands of Hollywood) portraying Detective Joan Bennett, Jacqueline Pinol (Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Spider-Man) portraying Detective Julie Espinosa, David Moses (Creature, Scared to Death) portraying Martin Rose, Troy Evans (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Demolition Man) portraying Detective “Barrel” Johnson, and Gregory Scott Cummins (Cliffhanger, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) portraying Detective “Crate” Moore.
Joining the cast for the second season is David Denman (Brightburn, 13 Hours), Guy Wilson (Breaking Bad, Days of Our Lives), Patrick Brennan (Blonde, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2), Jessica Camacho (All Rise, Taken), Rafael Cabrera (Cheaper by the Dozen, Black Warrant), and Bruce Davison (X-Men, Longtime Companion).
