The Amazon Prime Video original series Hunters has been renewed for a second season, according to Deadline. Created by David Weil (The Twilight Zone), the streaming series debuted in February 2020 with a ten-episode first season. Weil stated to Deadline that he is “beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of Hunters. Alongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.” The series is executive produced by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us), Nelson McCormick (NYPD Blue, House, Prison Break), Tom Lesinski (Taboo), Weil himself, and many more.
Hunters revolve around a fictional take on the real-life United States’ Operation Paperclip which allowed for the relocation of German scientists while the show centers on a group of Nazi hunters in the 1970s as they attempt to uncover and kill Nazis that remain in America. The series’ cast includes the likes of Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Fury) as the main protagonist Josh Heidelbaum, Al Pacino (The Godfather) as Meyer Offerman, Jerrika Hinton (Grey’s Anatomy) as Millie Morris, Lena Olin (Enemies, A Love Story) as The Colonel, Saul Rubinek (True Romance, Wall Street) as Murray Markowitz, Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) as Lonny Flash, Greg Austin (Class) as Travis Leich. Additional cast includes Tiffany Boone (The Following) as Roxy Jones, Louis Ozawa (The Bourne Legacy) as Joe Mizushima, Kate Mulvany (The Great Gatsby) as Sister Harriet, Dylan Baker (The Good Wife) as Biff Simpson, and Carol Kane (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Annie Hall) as Mindy Markowitz.
Currently, the second season of Hunters does not have an estimated production start date due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic affecting nearly all of film and television production, nor any announced new cast members joining the series as of yet. The series can be streamed in its entirety on Amazon Prime Video. For interested television fans, check out the season one trailer below:
