Comicbook.com reports that Totally Spies! is back in gear with a new live-action production by Will Ferrell (Step Brothers, Elf, Megamind). The animated series has announced a huge season seven revival seven years after the end of the sixth season. The seventh season will be released internationally at the end of the year.

The news comes from a Variety article. According to Comicbook.com, the article explains that the Totally Spies! live-action is in the works now. The series will be under Amazon, and Ferrell will serve as an executive producer. Other producers will be Jessica Elbaum (Hustlers, Booksmart, May December) and Alix Taylor (Prey, Amityville: The Awakening, I Lived). The company producing the show will be Gloria Sanchez Productions. There are no cast or writers announced as of yet. However, it seems to be a partnership between Banijay Kids & Family, the company behind Totally Spies!, and Amazon MGM Studios. The show will be under the “YA adaptation” category and will focus on the main spy trio of the original show, Sam, Clover and Alex, being in their freshman year of college. There is no release date as of yet.
