Need something to help you stave off the Thanksgiving slump? HBONow can help you out.
In anticipation of its final season premiere in February of 2017, Variety reports that HBONow is allowing all five seasons of Girls to be streamed throughout the holiday weekend.
Girls is a serialized look at the lives of a group of girls going through the peaks and valleys of their twenties. Lena Dunham stars, writes, and directs the series. Her character, Hannah Horvath, is set to branch out from her city roots in the upcoming season. As she moves along her life with this quirky yet troubled group of friends, she realizes the irony in Elijah’s statement that at least “You’ve made so many great friendships.”
Girls has been buzzed about since its inception, as Lena Dunham was notoriously young to have created her own show. The series has received numerous Emmy nominations and two wins, as well as a Golden Globe for best comedy series.
Dunham surprised critics when she announced the series’ end after season six, but she remained composed, saying:
“I conceived of Girls when I was 23 and now I’m nearly 30 — the show has quite perfectly spanned my 20s, the period of time that it’s about — and so it feels like the right time to wrap our story up.”
