‘Alien: Earth’: Hulu Drops Teaser For Noah Hawley’s Upcoming ‘Alien’ Prequel Series

Per Deadline, Hulu has announced summer 2025 as the premiere date for the upcoming FX on Hulu sci-fi horror series Alien: Earth. The streamer also dropped teaser that features the iconic Xenomorph, which fans of the franchise also saw in an earlier clip released for select movie-goers who attended screenings of Alien: Romulus. In video dropped earlier this month from Disney+ and Hulu, little slivers of various shows, including Alien: Earth, were revealed, and glimpses of what’s to come were featured.

From showrunner Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), Alien: Earth will be set in the year 2120. When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat. As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors in the wreckage, they encounter mysterious, predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival. What they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.

Sydney Chandler (Sugar, Pistol) leads the series, which also stars Alex Lawther (Summer Camp Island, The Cleaner), Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Terminator Zero), Essie Davis (Exposure, One Day), Samuel Blenkin (Mary & George, The Continental), Babou Ceesay (Shardlake, Wolfe), David Rysdahl (Black Mirror, The Family), Adrian Edmondson (Kidnapped, Rain Dogs), Adarsh Gourav (Guns & Gulaabs, Extrapolations), Jonathan Ajayi (Vigil, Noughts + Crosses), Erana James (The Wilds, Golden Boy), Lily Newmark (Dalgliesh, Temple), Diem Camille (Alex Rider, Klassen) and Moe Bar-El (We Might Regret This, Dinner with the Parents).

“There’s something about seeing a Xenomorph in the wilds of Earth with your own eyes,” Hawley told Deadline at the Emmy Awards in September. “That is truly chilling to think of it moving here among us, and so I can’t tell you under what circumstances you’ll see that, but you’ll see it — and you’re going to lock your door that night.”

Regarding his approach to designing the sharp-toothed creatures, he said, “What was really fun for me was to really engage with the creature, bring some of my own thoughts to the design while not touching the silhouette, because that’s sacrosanct,” he shared. “But some of the elements as we know, whatever the host is, informs what the final creature is. I just wanted to play around a little bit to make it as scary as it should be.”

Alien: Earth is a co-production between 26 Keys, Scott Free, 20th Television and FXP. The series will be directed by Hawley and Dana Gonzales (The Changeling, The Handmaid’s Tale) and written by Hawley, Ridley Scott (Kaleidoscope, Still Missing Morgan), Dan O’Bannon (Blue Thunder) and Ronald Shusett (Total Recall). EPs include Hawley, Gonzales, Scott, Walter Hill (Broken Trail, Deadwood) and Joseph E. Iberti (Watchmen, Mr. Robot). Chris Lowenstein (No Escape, S.W.A.T.) and Darin McLeod (Suspicion, War & Peace) will serve as producers.
