The second season of Alien Earth is in production. Babou Cessay (The Best Of Enemies, Free Fire) announced the news on the official Instagram account before giving us an inside look at the behind-the-scenes. Alien Earth is the first live-action television series to take place within the Alien universe.

The official logline for the series is as follows: “In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named Wendy marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined,” per Variety. An official season two log line has not been released.
The series recently cast two Game Of Thrones veterans: Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent, Elf) and Jerome Flynn (Black Mirror, Ripper Street). Hopefully, the two will share significant screen time, as their chemistry as Tyrion and Bronn was undeniable. Additionally, Sam Spruell (Fargo, The North Water), who plays Prince Maeker, the grumpy father of deuteragonist Egg, in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, will join the other two lords of Westeros as they venture from fantasy to sci-fi.
The main cast from season one includes Sydney Chandler (Dont Worry Darling, Sugar), Alex Lawther (The End Of The F**king World, The Imitation Game), Essie Davis (True History Of The Kelly Gang, The Babadook), Samuel Blekin (Black Mirror, Mickey 17), Timothy Olyphant (Justified, A Perfect Getaway), Richa Morjani (Running Point, Fargo), and Lily Newmark (Emerald City, Solo: A Star Wars Story). Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion) wrote and created the series.
