Devs, a drama written by Alex Garland, has been ordered as pilot by FX. The show will be executive produced by Garland under FX Productions.
Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming for FX Networks, made the announcement. “Devs is a captivating series from Alex Garland, building on his track record of groundbreaking work that challenges our notion of humanity amid the seemingly boundless promise of technology,” stated Schrier. “We’re all the more thrilled that Alex will direct and executive produce with our partners at DNA TV and Scott Rudin Productions.”
The story of Devs surrounds a computer engineer named Lily who looks into a secret division of her employer. She believes the high-tech company is responsible for her boyfriend’s disappearance.
Garland is currently under contract with FX for several projects including Devs. He is best known for his 2016 Oscar nominated film Ex Machina. His wheelhouse has also included 28 Days Later and Never Let Me Go.
