Alec Musser, known for his roles in the comedy movie Grown Ups and the soap opera All My Children from ABC, has passed away, according to Variety. Musser’s fiancée, Paige Press, verified the news in a story on Instagram. A cause of death has not yet been determined; Musser was 50.
Press said, as per Variety, “RIP to the love of my life. I will never stop loving you. My heart is so broken.”
Musser was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, Connecticut and San Diego. He then went on to graduate from the University of San Diego.
Portraying Del Henry in the soap opera All My Children from ABC, Musser took on the role from 2005 until 2007 and acted in 43 episodes. He obtained the role after being a contestant during season two of I Wanna Be a Soap Star, an original series on SOAPnet, and winning.
Additionally, Musser appeared alongside Kevin James (The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop), Adam Sandler (Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer), David Spade (Joe Dirt, The Benchwarmers), Rob Schneider (The Wrong Missy, The Hot Chick) and Chris Rock (Madagascar, Death at a Funeral) in the 2010 comedy film Grown Ups. Variety notes a particularly unforgettable scene from the film, where Musser appears as a water park employee and is seen with several other stars like Maya Rudolph (Big Mouth, Bridesmaids), Maria Bello (Coyote Ugly, A History of Violence), Joyce Van Patten (Marley & Me, Monkey Shines), and Salma Hayek (Frida, Savages).
Sandler took to Instagram, as per Variety, to pay his respects to the late actor, saying, “I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person,” said Sandler.
